Battery (the flight pack)

The help for this page of the Version 2 transmitter, in its newest words. A transmitter on V2 B92 or older shows older words.

On the transmitter: Model setupRotorflightBattery

Tell the flight controller about the flight pack, for its warnings and the telemetry. The settings are the same in every bank ('All banks' at the top left).

The Rotorflight battery page: cells, capacity, where voltage and current come from, and cell voltages for full, warning and empty
The page as the transmitter shows it. Tap to enlarge.

It needs the model connected, with the safety on, and a Version 2 receiver with Bluetooth.
With no model, the page shows the backup on the card.
'Save' then changes the backup.
The change is offered to the model when it next connects.

Tap any number to type a new one. Tap the box beside 'Voltage from' or 'Current from' to step through its choices.

Flight pack

Cells: how many cells the pack has, up to 24.
0 = automatic: the flight controller counts them by the voltage.
Capacity [mAh]: the size of the pack, for the fuel gauge. With several battery profiles, it is the one in use.
Voltage from and Current from: usually ESC telemetry; FC pads when the battery wires go to the flight controller's own sensor pads;
or None. (FBUS shows only if it was already chosen.)

EACH CELL [V]:
Volts per cell, 1.00 to 5.00.
Full: fresh off the charger (4.20 for LiPo).
Warning: time to land (3.50 is common).
Empty: the bottom of the fuel gauge.
Highest allowed: used for counting the cells.
They must rise: Empty below Warning below Full, and Full no higher than Highest allowed. 'Save' refuses otherwise.

Sensors

'Sensors >' shows when a source is FC pads.
Its page, 'Battery sensors (FC pads)', has the voltage sensor's scale, and the current sensor's scale and offset.
Each sensor shows only when its source is FC pads.
Adjust them until the flight controller agrees with a meter.
'< Battery' goes back. 'Save' and 'OK' work from either page.

Save and OK

'Save' appears once something is changed. It writes to the flight controller, stores and reads back.
'OK' leaves; if a change was not saved, it asks first.
