Check IDs

The help for this page of the Version 2 transmitter, in its newest words. A transmitter on V2 B92 or older shows older words.

On the transmitter: Model setupModelsCheck IDs

Lists every model memory with its stored ID, and finds any ID stored twice.

Each line shows the model's number, its name and its stored ID.
'(ID OK)' means no other model has that ID.
'(same as 9)' means model 9 has the same ID.
A model with no stored ID shows its name only.
'Duplicates' at the bottom counts the models whose ID is also stored with another model. It should be 0.
'OK' goes to the 'Model IDs' page, to store or delete an ID.

What the ID is

Each receiver has its own ID: the 6-byte (48-bit) number of its processor chip (its MAC address), shown as 12 characters.
Automatic model selection (AMS) uses it to load the right model memory when a model connects. So each ID must be right, and stored with one model only.

Duplicates

A duplicate can come from moving a receiver to another model, or from restoring a backup into a second model memory.
It can make AMS load the wrong model memory: best avoided!
When an ID is stored twice, the transmitter uses the model now loaded if it has that ID, or else the lowest-numbered one.
To clear a duplicate, load the model that should not have the ID, then press 'Delete stored ID' on 'Model IDs'.

Store and delete

On 'Model setup', then 'Model IDs':
'Store this model's ID' stores the ID of the model now connected, so it can be selected automatically next time.
'Delete stored ID' removes the ID and changes nothing else.

If you are not sure an ID is right

Turn AMS off ('Transmitter setup', then 'System').
Choose the right model on the 'Models' page, and connect.
Then press 'Store this model's ID', and turn AMS on again.

Backups and sending

A backup file keeps the model's ID; a restore brings it back.
A model sent to another transmitter takes its ID with it, if one was stored. With AMS on, that transmitter then selects it when the model connects.
